Mollie O'Mara

photographer. artist. mom.

Best known for her beautiful portraits, Mollie O'Mara has a gift for bringing out the true personality of each and every child she shoots. Children should be free to be children and express themselves in their unique little ways, which Mollie always seems to catch. Her work is always spontaneous, interesting and different with every child she meets.

Her love for children clearly comes through as she chases, performs, entertains and connects with them whether they be 3 months or 30 years. Working with them in their own environment whether that be in the park, their crib, or on the beach, coupled with beautiful light, sparking eyes and lots of fun, there image is captured forever.

Mollie O'Mara grew up in Pittsburgh and attended art classes at Carnegie Institute at the early age of ten. She moved to NYC right after receiving a BFA in Acting and Scenic Design from CUA in Washington, DC and immediately started working in TV, film, and theater. She met her husband and helped create the award winning Cucaracha Theater Company in downtown NYC. Mollie went on to originate roles in over 30 productions there while also appearing in other theaters around the city including The Joseph Papp Public Theater and the Old Victory Theater on 42nd St.

Mollie's love for photography started in high school and continues to grow in her work in theater, and photo journalism. Her work has appeared on covers of magazines and advertisements. She has shot Weddings, Bar Mitzvah's, parties and events and continues to meet new children while capturing them on film.
